Since the beginning of science, mathematics has been a fundamental tool for scientists
in the task of understanding nature and trying to predict its behavior. However, it was
only until the middle of the 20th century with the computer revolution that many of
the mathematical models could be solved using numerical methods and advanced
computational calculations.
