Sobre esta obra
Thermochemical processes involve phenomena that occur at different scales. For
example, chemical reactions take place on a microscale in which reactant molecules
interact to form products. It is from this scale that information regarding intrinsic
chemical kinetics and thermodynamic parameters can be obtained. Another scale is the
mesoscale or Fick’s scale, in which the phenomena of matter, energy and momentum
transport are important, which can take place in the free medium or in porous media.
T
he knowledge of these phenomena is fundamental to be able to know the so-called
global reaction kinetics and details of the porous structure of the solids that are com
monly involved in this type of reaction.
