Sobre esta obra

The title of the book “Pedagogías críticas americanas” (American critical pedagogies) tends to describe and explain the avatars inhabiting the educational field. We understand pedagogy as the philosophical currents that address the educational scheme and we share a critical view of the approach to the educational process. Such criticism is understood, not as a description of attributes, but as an optimal distance between one and the other, with sovereignty and power of decision, so as not to be alienated in the desire of the other in this alienating capitalism of our human condition. The book is presented as a unit that relates the diversities of the different latitudes in our American territory, the aspects of intervention at different educational levels, and the multiple approaches of dissimilar, heterogeneous recipients, ranging from ancestral wisdoms processed in education, community education, inclusive education, and new proposals for conceptualization of our practice in the teaching-learning process. Addressing the first questions regarding the meaning of teaching, its roots of common assumptions of truths in the vicissitudes of the interculturalities that we inhabit in our America. It is a book that will be used during the teacher training, in specializations, and postgraduate courses in the social sciences, providing categories and stories of experiences applicable to the educational field. We respect the languages of the authors as a domain of their culture and in the effort of territorial integration, where language is not a limit, but the condition of our possibility to generate understanding and dialogue.
