This text includes the results of research carried out concerning the role of the different ancient roads in their articulation and socio-economic integration of the Cundiboyacense altiplano region, the connections with the Magdalena River and other regions, which facilitated the exchange and communication of the interior of the country, with the coastal areas and the Eastern Plains. The text is divided into two parts: the first is composed of four chapters that make up the analysis andchanges of the ancient road between Tunja and Santafé, in the colonial period, XIX and XX centuries when the road became the central road of the north, ending this section with a study of the physical-spatial notions and the territorial meaning from the memories and stories of the communities. In the second part of the book, three different roads that connected the Cundiboyacense highlands with other regions are studied: the Cravo road, the Honda road, and the Carare road that connected Santafé and Tunja, respectively, with the Magdalena River.All these roads were of great importance for the circulation of goods produced in the interior of the current Colombian territory.
