Los yaquis son un grupo indígena que ha luchado siempre por defender su territorio y su derecho a autogobernarse. Bajo la dictadura de Porfirio Díaz, esta etnia fue perseguida y deportada al sur del país. Los objetivos de este libro son explicar los imaginarios sociales que representa su deportación y explicar cómo se define al indígena yaqui desde el imaginario social de la elite sonorense de principios del siglo XX.
Abstract:
The Yaqui are an indigenous people who have struggled to defend their territory and their right to self-government. Under the dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz, this ethnicity was persecuted and deported to the south of the country. The aim of this book is to explain both the social imaginaries conjured by their deportation and how the Yaqui are defined from the social imaginary of Sonora’s elite in the early XX century.
