Límites y retos del estado

El Perú, como muchos de sus países vecinos, sigue construyendo un aparato estatal capaz de proveer de bienestar a la población que acoge dentro de sus fronteras. En este libro, las autoras establecen un diálogo con hombres y mujeres de Venezuela que han llegado a esta parte del continente a causa de una migración sin precedentes en la historia de América Latina. Sumado a ello, hurgan en las voces de la ciudadanía peruana con el fin de analizar las percepciones que esta tiene sobre la interacción con los migrantes venezolanos en aspectos ineludibles para el ejercicio de los derechos fundamentales: el acceso a la educación, el uso de los servicios de salud y la inserción en el mercado laboral. Gracias a una serie de reflexiones teóricas y al análisis de un conjunto de entrevistas realizadas en Arequipa, Lima y Piura, las autoras ofrecen un oportuno panorama sobre lo que se entiende por integración y cuáles son las consecuencias de que la sociedad y el Estado peruano encaren un proceso de este tipo.

Limits and Challenges of the State. Integration Processes of the Venezuelan Community in Peru. Peru, like many of its neighboring countries, continues to build a state apparatus capable of providing well-being to the population it welcomes within its borders. In this book, the authors establish a dialogue with men and women from Venezuela who have arrived to this part of the continent due to an unprecedented migration in the history of Latin America. Additionally, they delve into the voices of Peruvian citizens in order to analyze the perceptions they have about the interaction with Venezuelan migrants in unavoidable aspects for the exercise of fundamental rights: access to education, use of health services, and insertion in the labor market. Thanks to a series of theoretical reflections and the analysis of a set of interviews carried out in cities like Arequipa, Lima, and Piura, the authors offer a timely overview of what is understood by integration and the consequences that emerge from the facing of such a process both by the Peruvian society and State.
