Sobre esta obra
Czech Republic adn Mexico; what can these two countries interchange in the área of the academic research across the social and human sciences? To this day, much has been written on México and the Czech Republic but very Little atención has been devoted to these two countries in mutual relation. Partially it can be explained by the fact that geographically and culturally speaking they stand for quite distant regions and they have not maintained a particularly intense contact neither in the business, tourism or cultural agenda, nor in their academic activities. HOwever, let us not imply that such interest does noto r should not exist. In this respect, two of the editors of this book and academics of the Autonomus University of the State of Mexici (Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, UAEMéx), Zuzana Erdösová and Rafael Juárez Toledo, have developed a Czech-Mexican research line since 2009, which has been centered on the scientific and intercultural dialogue between both regions, its analysis and expansión. During the process, a cooperation net among public institutions (Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tenango Municipality Government), embassies (Embassy of the Czech Repoblic in Mexico) and univesities satared to emerge and among other archievements it made posible the signing of four bilateral agreements between the UAEMéx and the Czech partner universities. These links cleared the way for the student and profesor interchange and subsequently, in 2018, the Czech Republic already had become the second most favoritedestination for the students from de UAEMéx (after Spain). Also, in 2018 and 2019, a grant for the propagation of the Czech culture and literatura outside the Czech Republic was obtained and several cultural events and Czech language courses were organized.
